Employment, training and welfare of blind and disabled people in Scotland

CLARITY - Employment for Blind People has been established since 1854 with the sole purpose of providing employment opportunities for blind, partially sighted and disabled people, allowing them to support themselves rather than rely on benefits. CLARITY is on the Scottish Charities Register, number SC042291.

Josephine, who is registered blind, is now office manager after joining us 8 years ago. Before this time, she was out of work for 15 years.

CLARITY has given her the confidence and ability to speak to customers every day on the telephone. She is now training others with similar disabilities to progress in their communication skills. Josephine and her team sell the full CLARITY range of high quality toiletry and cleaning products to businesses and households all over Scotland. All of which are produced in our factory by blind and disabled employees using specialist equipment.

All CLARITY employees have the opportunity of training for nationally recognised qualifications and we also provide training in life skills such as literacy and numeracy.
